Charlean L. Gatlin is the Public Affairs & Community Outreach Specialist for the Orange County Clerk of Courts. She is responsible for leading and identifying outreach opportunities and programming that amplifies our priority to provide “Access to Justice.”

For almost six years she worked for the Florida Senate as the Senior Legislative Assistant for the Office of State Senator Randolph Bracy, District 11, and as the former District Legislative Assistant for the Office of State Senator Geraldine F. Thompson, District 12. Charlean attended the University of Central Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration with minors in Health Sciences and Business Administration in 2010, and she continued her education by earning a Master’s in Healthcare Informatics from UCF in 2014.

Before she joined the Florida Senate, the Miami native worked for three years as a Patient/Client Advocate for Express Scripts/CuraScript Specialty Pharmacy. Following her healthcare career, Charlean worked in the non-profit sector as the Assistant Director of the Wells’ Built Museum of African-American History and Culture and now serves as a Board Member for the Wells’ Built Museum.

Charlean understands the importance of civic/community engagement and has worked as a volunteer for several political campaigns. She is a member of several community organizations which include: the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association, Winter Park Leadership Class XXXIII, Pine Hills Community Council, New Leaders Council Orlando, and Voting Is Queen-Orlando. She is a member of the Delta Omicron Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and currently serves as Region Executive Assistant for the South Atlantic Region.
